TED is a non-profit organization aimed at providing a platform for “Ideas Worth Spreading”. It started out in the year 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment and Design.
TEDx program is separate from the global TED program. TEDx functions under TED, and is designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level.
TEDx Christ University is an initiative of the students from the Department of Professional Studies. The event is organized and run completely by the students representing various departments of Christ University. The Head of the Department of Professional Studies serves as the teacher coordinator.  The selection of speakers, handling of communication and designing of the stage and event are entirely owned by the student body in consultation with the Coordinator.
The organizing committee is made up of students from every department in Christ University, which brings together diversity of thought, amalgamation of knowledge and generation of vibrant ideas. It also gives the student body a great opportunity to interact with individuals from diverse fields and learn from each other.
